Psalms 47
47
For the music director. A psalm of the sons of Korah.
1Everyone, clap your hands! Shout with joy to the Lord!
2For the Lord Most High is awe-inspiring; he is the great King of all the earth.
3He subdues other peoples under us; he puts nations under our feet.
4He chose the land for us to own; the proud possession of Jacob's descendants whom he loves. Selah.
5God ascends his throne#47:5. Implied. with a great shout, the Lord is accompanied by the sound of the trumpet.
6Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises!
7For God is King of all the earth; sing praises with a psalm!
8God rules over the nations; he sits on his holy throne.
9The rulers of the nations gather together with the people of the God of Abraham, for the defenders#47:9. Literally, “shields.” of the earth belong to God. He is highly honored everywhere.

47
1Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to Elohim with a voice of singing!
2For יהוה Most High is awesome; A great Sovereign over all the earth.
3He subdues peoples under us, And nations under our feet.
4He chooses our inheritance for us, The excellence of Ya‛aqoḇ whom He loves. Selah.
5Elohim shall go up with a shout, יהוה with a voice of a shophar.
6Sing praises to Elohim, sing praises! Sing praises to our Sovereign, sing praises!
7For Elohim is Sovereign of all the earth; Sing praises with understanding.
8Elohim shall reign over the nations; Elohim shall sit on His set-apart throne.
9Nobles of peoples shall be gathered together, The people of the Elohim of Aḇraham. For the shields of the earth belong to Elohim; He shall be greatly exalted.
