1These were the sons of David born to him in Hebron: The firstborn was Amnon, whose mother was Ahinoam of Jezreel. The second was Daniel, whose mother was Abigail of Carmel. 2The third was Absalom, whose mother was Maacah, the daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur. The fourth was Adonijah, whose mother was Haggith. 3The fifth was Shephatiah, whose mother was Abital. The sixth was Ithream, whose mother was his wife Eglah.
4These were the six sons born to David in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months. David reigned in Jerusalem thirty-three more years, 5and these were the children born to him there:
Shammua,#3:5. Actually Shimea, a different spelling of Shammu. Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon. Their mother was Bathsheba,#3:5. Actually Bathshua, a different spelling of Bathsheba. daughter of Ammiel. 6In addition there were also Ibhar, Elishua,#3:6. Actually Elishama, a different spelling of Elishua. Eliphelet, 7Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia, 8Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet, a total of nine. 9These were all the sons of David, apart from his sons by his concubines. Their sister was Tamar.
10The male lineage#3:10. “Male lineage”: this term is used instead of repetitively stating “his son.” from Solomon was: Rehoboam, Abijah, Asa, 11Jehoram,#3:11. Actually Joram, a different spelling of Jehoram. Ahaziah, Joash, 12Amaziah, Azariah, Jotham, 13Ahaz, Hezekiah, Manasseh, 14Amon, Josiah.
15The sons of Josiah: Johanan (firstborn), Jehoiakim (second), Zedekiah (third), Shallum (fourth).
16The sons of Jehoiakim: Jehoiachin#3:16. Actually Jeconiah, a different spelling of Jehoiachin. and Zedekiah.
17The sons of Jehoiachin who were taken into captivity: Shealtiel, 18Malkiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.
19The sons of Pedaiah: Zerubbabel and Shimei.
The sons of Zerubbabel: Meshullam and Hananiah. Their sister was Shelomith. 20Five additional sons were: Hashubah, Ohel, Berekiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-Hesed.
21The sons of Hananiah: Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, and the sons of Rephaiah, the sons of Arnan, the sons of Obadiah, and the sons of Shecaniah.#3:21. The text has difficulties in interpretation.
22The sons of Shecaniah: Shemaiah and his sons: Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat—a total of six.
23The sons of Neariah: Elioenai, Hizkiah and Azrikam—a total of three.
24The sons of Elioenai: Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, and Anani—a total of seven.

David’s Descendants
1Now these were the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron: the firstborn was Amnon, by Ahinoam the Jezreelite woman; second, Daniel, by Abigail the Carmelite woman;
2third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of King Talmai of Geshur; fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;
3fifth, Shephatiah by Abital; the sixth, Ithream by his wife Eglah.
4Six were born to him in Hebron. There he reigned seven years and six months; then in Jerusalem he reigned 33 years.
5These were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan and Solomon. These four were from Bath-shua the daughter of Ammiel;
6and the other nine were Ibhar, Elishama, Eliphelet,
7Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
8Elishama, Eliada and Eliphelet.
9All these were sons of David, besides his sons by the concubines. Tamar was their sister.
10Solomon’s son was Rehoboam. Abijah was his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,
11Joram his son, Ahaziah his son, Joash his son,
12Amaziah his son, Azariah his son, Jotham his son,
13Ahaz his son, Hezekiah his son, Manasseh his son,
14Amon his son, and Josiah his son.
15The sons of Josiah: Johanan the firstborn, Jehoiakim the second, Zedekiah the third, and Shallum the fourth.
16The sons of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah was his son, Zedekiah his son.
17The sons of Jeconiah, the captive: Shealtiel his son,
18Malchiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama and Nedabiah.
19The sons of Pedaiah: Zerubbabel and Shimei. The sons of Zerubbabel: Meshullam and Hananiah; Shelomith was their sister,
20and five others: Hashubah, Ohel, Berechiah, Hasadiah and Jushabhesed.
21The sons of Hananiah: Pelatiah and Jeshaiah, whose son was Rephaiah, whose son was Arnan, whose son was Obadiah, whose son was Shecaniah.
22The descendants of Shecaniah: Shemaiah and sons Hatush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat—six in all.
23The sons of Neariah: Elioenai, Hizkiah and Azrikam—three in all.
24The sons of Elioenai were Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah and Anani—seven in all.
