Genealogy: Twelve Sons of Jacob (Israel)
1These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Zebulun, 2Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
3The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, and Shelah; the three were born to him by Shua’s daughter the Canaanitess. Er, Judah’s eldest, was evil in the Lords sight, and He put him to death. 4Tamar, Judah’s daughter-in-law, bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah’s sons were five in all.
5The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul. 6The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara—five in all. 7The son of Carmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel, who violated the ban [by taking things from Jericho that had been banned]. 8The son of Ethan: Azariah.

9The sons of Hezron who were born to him: Jerahmeel, Ram, and Chelubai [that is, #This Caleb (Chelubai) son of Hezron is not to be confused with Caleb (son of Jephunneh) the companion of Joshua.Caleb]. 10Ram became the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, leader of the sons of Judah. 11Nahshon became the father of Salma, Salma became the father of Boaz, 12Boaz became the father of Obed, and Obed became the father of Jesse. 13Jesse became the father of Eliab his firstborn, Abinadab the second, Shimea the third, 14Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth, 15Ozem the sixth, David the seventh. 16Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, Joab, and Asahel, three. 17Abigail gave birth to Amasa, and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.
18And Caleb the son of Hezron had sons by his wife Azubah and by Jerioth. Azubah’s sons were: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. 19Azubah died, and Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur. 20Hur became the father of Uri, and Uri became the father of Bezalel [the skillful craftsman who made the furnishings of the tabernacle].
21Later, when Hezron was sixty years old, he married the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, and she bore him Segub. 22Segub became the father of Jair, who [later] had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead. 23But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-jair, with Kenath and its villages, sixty towns in all. All these were the sons (descendants) of Machir, the father of Gilead. 24After Hezron died in Caleb-ephrathah, Abijah, Hezron’s wife, bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.
25The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron: Ram the firstborn, Bunah, Oren, Ozem, and Ahijah. 26Jerahmeel had another wife, named Atarah; she was the mother of Onam. 27The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were: Maaz, Jamin, and Eker. 28The sons of Onam: Shammai and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab and Abishur. 29The name of Abishur’s wife was Abihail; she bore him Ahban and Molid. 30The sons of Nadab: Seled and Appaim. Seled died childless. 31The son of Appaim: Ishi. The son of Ishi: Sheshan. The son of Sheshan: Ahlai. 32The sons of Jada the brother of Shammai: Jether and Jonathan. Jether died childless. 33The sons of Jonathan: Peleth and Zaza. These were the sons (descendants) of Jerahmeel. 34Sheshan had no sons—only daughters. But Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha. 35So Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant as a wife; she bore him Attai. 36Attai became the father of Nathan, and Nathan became the father of Zabad. 37Zabad became the father of Ephlal, and Ephlal became the father of Obed. 38Obed became the father of Jehu, and Jehu became the father of Azariah. 39Azariah became the father of Helez, and Helez became the father of Eleasah. 40Eleasah became the father of Sismai, and Sismai became the father of Shallum. 41Shallum became the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah became the father of Elishama.
42The sons of Caleb, the brother of Jerahmeel: Mesha his firstborn was the father of Ziph; and his son Mareshah was the father of Hebron. 43The sons of Hebron: Korah, Tappuah, Rekem, and Shema. 44Shema became the father of Raham, the father of Jorkeam. And Rekem became the father of Shammai. 45The son of Shammai was Maon; Maon became the father of Bethzur. 46Ephah, Caleb’s #See note Gen 22:24.concubine, gave birth to Haran, Moza, and Gazez; Haran became the father of Gazez. 47The sons of Jahdai: Regem, Jotham, Geshan, Pelet, Ephah, and Shaaph. 48Maacah, Caleb’s concubine, gave birth to Sheber and Tirhanah. 49She also bore Shaaph the father of Madmannah and Sheva the father of Machbena and of Gibea; and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah. 50These were the sons (descendants) of Caleb.
The sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim, 51Salma the father of Bethlehem and Hareph the father of Beth-gader. 52Shobal the father of Kiriath-jearim had [other] sons (descendants): Haroeh, half of the Manahathites [in Judah], 53and the families of Kiriath-jearim: the Ithrites, Puthites, Shumathites, and Mishraites. From these came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites. 54The sons (descendants) of Salma: Bethlehem, the Netophathites, Atroth-beth-joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites. 55The families of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, Shimeathites, and Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came from Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.
