Revelation 15

The Last Troubles
1Then I saw another wonder in heaven. It was great and amazing. There were seven angels bringing seven troubles. These are the last troubles, because after these troubles God’s anger is finished.
2I saw what looked like a sea of glass mixed with fire. All of those who had won the victory over the beast and his idol and over the number of his name were standing by the sea. They had harps that God had given them. 3They sang the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb:
“You do great and wonderful things, Psalm 111:2
Lord God, the God of heaven’s armies. Amos 3:13
Everything the Lord does is right and true, Psalm 145:17
King of the nations.# Some Greek copies read “King of the ages.”
4Everyone will respect you, Lord. Jeremiah 10:7
They will honor you.
Only you are holy.
All people will come
and worship you. Psalm 86:9-10
This is because he is a faithful God who does no wrong.
He is right and fair.” Deuteronomy 32:4
5After this I saw the temple (the Tent of the Agreement) in heaven. The temple was opened. 6And the seven angels bringing the seven troubles came out of the temple. They were dressed in clean, shining linen. They wore golden bands tied around their chests. 7Then one of the four living things gave seven golden bowls to the seven angels. The bowls were filled with the anger of God, who lives forever and ever. 8The temple was filled with smoke from the glory and the power of God. No one could enter the temple until the seven troubles of the seven angels were finished.

Preparation for the Bowl Judgments
1Then I saw another great and awe-inspiring sign # Or and awesome symbolic display in heaven: # Mt 16:1; 24:30; Lk 21:11; Ac 2:19; Rv 12:1,3; 13:13 seven angels with the seven last plagues, for with them, God’s wrath will be completed. # Jn 19:30; Rv 10:7; 16:17; 17:17 2I also saw something like a sea of glass # Rv 4:6 mixed with fire, and those who had won the victory over the beast, his image, # Other mss add his mark and the number of his name, were standing on the sea of glass with harps from God. # Or harps of God ; = harps belonging to the service of God # Rv 5:8; 14:2 3They sang the song of God’s servant Moses # Ex 15:1; Dt 31:22 and the song of the Lamb:
Great and awe-inspiring are Your works,
Lord God, the Almighty;
righteous and true # Rv 16:7; 19:2 are Your ways,
King of the Nations. # Other mss read ages # Dn 2:37; Lk 22:25; 1Tm 6:15; Rv 17:14; 19:16
4Lord, who will not fear
and glorify Your name?
Because You alone are holy, # Is 8:13
for all the nations will come
and worship before You # Ps 86:9; 113:4; Is 52:10; 61:11; Jr 3:17; 33:9
because Your righteous acts
have been revealed.
5After this I looked, and the heavenly sanctuary — the tabernacle of testimony # Ex 38:21; Nm 17:7; 18:2 — was opened. # Rv 11:19 6Out of the sanctuary came the seven angels with the seven plagues, dressed in clean, bright linen, with gold sashes wrapped around their chests. 7One of the four living creatures gave the seven angels seven gold bowls filled with the wrath of God who lives forever and ever. # Ex 15:18; Ps 10:16; 45:6; 48:14; Gl 1:5; Eph 3:21; Ph; 4:20; 1Tm 1:17; 2Tm 4:18; Heb 1:8; 13:21; 1Pt 4:11; Rv 1:6,18; 4:9,10; 5:13; 7:12; 10:6; 11:15 8Then the sanctuary was filled with smoke from God’s glory and from His power, # Ex 19:18; 20:18; Is 4:5; 6:4 and no one could enter the sanctuary until the seven plagues of the seven angels were completed.
