Chant sur la sortie d’Égypte
1Quand les Israélites sont sortis d’Égypte,
quand la famille de Jacob a quitté ce pays étranger,
2le pays de Juda est devenu le lieu saint du Seigneur,
Israël est devenu sa propriété.
3En voyant les Israélites, la mer s’est enfuie,
le fleuve Jourdain a reculé.
4Les montagnes ont sauté comme des béliers,
les collines ont bondi comme des cabris .
5Mer, pourquoi t’enfuir ?
Jourdain, pourquoi reculer ?
6Montagnes, pourquoi sauter comme des béliers ?
Collines, pourquoi bondir comme des cabris ?
7Terre, tremble devant le Seigneur,
devant le Dieu de Jacob.
8Il change le rocher en étang
et les cailloux en source .

1When Israel went out of Egypt,
The house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
2Judah was his sanctuary,
And Israel his dominion.
3The sea saw it, and fled:
Jordan was driven back.
4The mountains skipped like rams,
And the little hills like lambs.
5What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest?
Thou Jordan, that thou wast driven back?
6Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams;
And ye little hills, like lambs?
7Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord,
At the presence of the God of Jacob;
8Which turned the rock into a standing water,
The flint into a fountain of waters.
