Revelation 1
1
1 This is the Revelation of Yeshua the Messiah,#1:1 “Messiah” means “Anointed One”. which God gave him to show to his servants the things which must happen soon, which he sent and made known by his angel#1:1 or, messenger (here and wherever angel is mentioned) to his servant, Yochanan, 2who testified to God’s word and of the testimony of Yeshua the Messiah, about everything that he saw.
3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and keep the things that are written in it, for the time is near.
4Yochanan, to the seven assemblies that are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from God, who is and who was and who is to come; and from the seven Spirits who are before his throne; 5and from Yeshua the Messiah, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us, and washed us from our sins by his blood— 6and he made us to be a Kingdom, priests#Exodus 19:6; Isaiah 61:6 to his God and Father—to him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
7 Behold,#1:7 “Behold”, from “ἰδοὺ”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection. he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, including those who pierced him. All the tribes of the earth will mourn over him. Even so, Amen.
8 “I am the Alef and the Tav, # 1:8 TR adds “the Beginning and the End” ” says the Lord God,#1:8 TR omits “God” “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
9 I Yochanan, your brother and partner with you in the oppression, Kingdom, and perseverance in Messiah Yeshua, was on the isle that is called Patmos because of God’s Word and the testimony of Yeshua the Messiah. 10I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, like a shofar 11saying,#1:11 TR adds “I am the Alef and the Tav, the First and the Last.” “What you see, write in a book and send to the seven assemblies:#1:11 TR adds “which are in Asia” to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”
12 I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. Having turned, I saw seven golden lamp stands. 13And amongst the lamp stands was one like a son of man,#Daniel 7:13 clothed with a robe reaching down to his feet, and with a golden sash around his chest. 14His head and his hair were white as white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15His feet were like burnished brass, as if it had been refined in a furnace. His voice was like the voice of many waters. 16He had seven stars in his right hand. Out of his mouth proceeded a sharp two-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining at its brightest. 17When I saw him, I fell at his feet like a dead man.
He laid his right hand on me, saying, “Don’t be afraid. I am the first and the last, 18and the Living one. I was dead, and behold, I am alive forever and ever. Amen. I have the keys of Death and of Sheol.#1:18 or, Hell 19Write therefore the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will happen hereafter. 20The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden lamp stands is this: The seven stars are the angels#1:20 or, messengers (here and wherever angels are mentioned) of the seven assemblies. The seven lamp stands are seven assemblies.

Yeshua’s Revelation to John
1The revelation of Yeshua the Messiah, which God gave Him to show to His servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending His angel to His servant John,
2who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Yeshua the Messiah—to everything he saw.
3How fortunate is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and those who hear and keep what has been written in it—for the time is near.
4John, To Messiah’s seven communities in Asia: Grace to you and shalom from Him who is and who was and who is to come, as well as from the seven spirits who are before His throne,
5and from Messiah Yeshua, the faithful witness, the firstborn of the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood
6and made us a kingdom, kohanim to His God and Father—to Him be glory and power forever! Amen!
7“Look, He is coming with the clouds, and every eye shall see Him, even those who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth shall mourn because of Him. Yes, amen!”
8“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says Adonai Elohim, “Who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty!”
9I, John, your brother and fellow partaker with you in the tribulation and kingdom and patient endurance that are in Yeshua, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Yeshua.
10I was in the Ruach on the Day of the Lord, and I heard behind me a loud voice like that of a trumpet,
11saying, “Write what you see in a scroll, and send it to Messiah’s seven communities—to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea.”
Vision of the Glorious Son of Man
12Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me. And when I turned, I saw seven golden menorot.
13In the midst of the menorot, I saw One like a Son of Man, clothed in a robe down to His feet, with a golden belt wrapped around His chest.
14His head and His hair were white like wool, white like snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire.
15His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and His voice was like the roar of rushing waters.
16In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came forth a sharp, two-edged sword. His face was like the sun shining at full strength.
17When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. But He placed His right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid! I am the First and the Last,
18and the One who lives. I was dead, but look—I am alive forever and ever! Moreover, I hold the keys of death and Sheol.
19Therefore write down what you have seen, what is, and what will happen after these things.
20As for the mystery of the seven stars that you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden menorot—the seven stars are the angels of Messiah’s seven communities, and the seven menorahs are the seven communities.”
