Song of Solomon 8:13

Marriage is a journey where a husband and wife lean on the Lord and each other. On that journey, you must wholeheartedly commit to each other! As you do, be sure to jealously protect your marriage, trust God for help, value rightly, and walk purely and protectively. Together, you’ll build a lasting love and live happily ever after (most of the time).

Jewish people read the Song of Songs every year at the Passover, seeing these poems about the union of two lovers as a sort of commentary on Exodus — Israel escaped Egypt to enter into covenant union with Yahweh at Mount Sinai. In this plan we are going to look at some of the key themes shared between the Song of Songs and Exodus, and how Jesus, the Church’s groom, rescues us from slavery and unites us with Himself.

Song of Solomon is a stirring collection of love poems by King Solomon. This book exemplifies the ideal example of marriage and sexuality: exclusive, intimate, binding love between a man and a woman. It proclaims this love as a valid, beautiful, and joyful gift of God amid a sinful world.
