Leviticus 9
9
1And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; 2and he said unto Aaron, Take thee a calf of the herd for a sin-offering, and a ram for a burnt-offering, without blemish, and offer them before Jehovah. 3And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a he-goat for a sin-offering; and a calf and a lamb, both a year old, without blemish, for a burnt-offering; 4and an ox and a ram for peace-offerings, to sacrifice before Jehovah; and a meal-offering mingled with oil: for to-day Jehovah appeareth unto you. 5And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tent of meeting: and all the congregation drew near and stood before Jehovah. 6And Moses said, This is the thing which Jehovah commanded that ye should do: and the glory of Jehovah shall appear unto you. 7And Moses said unto Aaron, Draw near unto the altar, and offer thy sin-offering, and thy burnt-offering, and make atonement for thyself, and for the people; and offer the oblation of the people, and make atonement for them; as Jehovah commanded.
8So Aaron drew near unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin-offering, which was for himself. 9And the sons of Aaron presented the blood unto him; and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar: 10but the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul from the liver of the sin-offering, he burnt upon the altar; as Jehovah commanded Moses. 11And the flesh and the skin he burnt with fire without the camp.
12And he slew the burnt-offering; and Aaron’s sons delivered unto him the blood, and he sprinkled it upon the altar round about. 13And they delivered the burnt-offering unto him, piece by piece, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar. 14And he washed the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt-offering on the altar.
15And he presented the people’s oblation, and took the goat of the sin-offering which was for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first. 16And he presented the burnt-offering, and offered it according to the ordinance. 17And he presented the meal-offering, and filled his hand therefrom, and burnt it upon the altar, besides the burnt-offering of the morning.
18He slew also the ox and the ram, the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron’s sons delivered unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about, 19and the fat of the ox and of the ram, the fat tail, and that which covereth the inwards, and the kidneys, and the caul of the liver: 20and they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar: 21and the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave-offering before Jehovah; as Moses commanded.
22And Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people, and blessed them; and he came down from offering the sin-offering, and the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings. 23And Moses and Aaron went into the tent of meeting, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of Jehovah appeared unto all the people. 24And there came forth fire from before Jehovah, and consumed upon the altar the burnt-offering and the fat: and when all the people saw it, they shouted, and fell on their faces.

Leviticus 9

Kohanim Begin Their Ministry
1Now it happened on the eighth day that Moses called Aaron, his sons, and the elders of Israel.
2Then he said to Aaron, “Take a calf from the herd for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, both without blemish, and offer them before Adonai.
3You are to speak to Bnei-Yisrael, saying: Take a male goat for a sin offering, along with a calf and a lamb, both yearlings without blemish, for a burnt offering,
4plus a bull and a ram for fellowship offerings, to sacrifice before Adonai, along with a grain offering mixed with oil. For today Adonai appears to you.”
5So they brought what Moses commanded before the Tent of Meeting, and the entire congregation drew near and stood before Adonai.
6Moses said, “This is what Adonai commanded that you should do, so that the glory of Adonai may appear to you.”
7Moses said to Aaron, “Draw near to the altar, and bring your sin offering, and your burnt offering, and make atonement for yourself and for the people. Then present the offering for the people, and make atonement for them, as Adonai commanded.”
8So Aaron drew near to the altar, and slaughtered the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself.
9The sons of Aaron presented the blood to him. Then he dipped his finger in the blood, dabbed it onto the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the base of the altar.
10But the fat, the kidneys and the cover from the liver of the sin offering he burned up as smoke on the altar, as Adonai had commanded Moses.
11The flesh and the hide he burned in a fire outside the camp.
12Aaron slaughtered the burnt offering, then his sons presented the blood to him and he splashed it around on the altar.
13They handed the burnt offering to him piece by piece, along with the head, and he burned them up as smoke on the altar.
14He washed the innards and the legs and he offered them in smoke upon the burnt offering on the altar.
15Then he presented the people’s gift, took the goat of the sin offering which was for the people, slaughtered it, and offered it for sin, just like the first one.
16He presented the burnt offering and offered it according to the decree.
17Then Aaron presented the grain offering, filling his hand with some of it and burning it up as smoke on the altar, alongside the burnt offering of the morning.
18He also slaughtered the bull and the ram as the sacrifice of fellowship offerings for the people. Then his sons brought him the blood, which he splashed around on the altar,
19as well as the fat from the bull and the ram, the fat tail, and the layer over the innards along with the kidneys and the covering of the liver.
20They put the fat upon the breasts, and he burned it on the altar.
21But the breasts and the right thigh Aaron waved for a wave offering before Adonai, as Moses had commanded.
22Then Aaron lifted up his hands toward the people and blessed them. Then he stepped down from presenting the sin offering, the burnt offering and the fellowship offerings.
23Moses and Aaron then went into the Tent of Meeting. When they came back out and blessed the people, the glory of Adonai appeared to all the people.
24Fire came out from the presence of Adonai, and devoured the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When all the people saw it, they shouted and fell on their faces.
