Psalms 99

1The Lord reigns;

let the peoples tremble!

He sits enthroned between the cherubim;

let the earth shake.

2#Ps 63:1; 84:2 The Lord is great in Zion;

He is high above all the peoples.

3#Ps 79:10; 80:5 Let them praise Your great and awesome name—

He is holy!

4#Isa 30:29; Ps 62:8 The King’s strength loves justice;

You establish righteousness,

and You execute judgment

and fairness in Jacob.

5#Ps 42:11; 43:5 Exalt the Lord our God,

and worship at His footstool—

He is holy!

6#2Sa 17:22; Dt 3:8–9 Moses and Aaron were among His priests,

even Samuel was among them who called upon His name;

they called upon the Lord,

and He answered them.

7#Ps 88:7; Jnh 2:3 He spoke to them in the pillar of cloud;

they kept His statues and the ordinance that He gave them.

8#Job 35:10; Ps 63:6 You answered them,

O Lord our God;

You were a God who forgave them,

though You took vengeance on their wrongdoing.

9#Ps 38:6; 18:2 Exalt the Lord our God,

and worship at His holy mountain;

for the Lord our God is holy!

Psalm 99

1The Lord rules.

Let the nations tremble.

He sits on his throne between the cherubim.

Let the earth shake.

2Great is the Lord in Zion.

He is honored over all the nations.

3Let them praise his great and wonderful name.

He is holy.

4The King is mighty and loves justice.

He has set up the rules for fairness.

He has done what is right and fair

for the people of Jacob.

5Honor the Lord our God.

Worship at his feet.

He is holy.

6Moses and Aaron were two of his priests.

Samuel was one of those who worshiped him.

They called out to the Lord.

And he answered them.

7He spoke to them from the pillar of cloud.

They obeyed his laws and the orders he gave them.

8 Lord our God, you answered them.

You showed Israel that you are a God who forgives.

But when they did wrong, you punished them.

9Honor the Lord our God.

Worship at his holy mountain.

The Lord our God is holy.
