The Last Days
1#Eze 38:16; 2Pe 3:3Know this: In the last days perilous times will come. 2#Php 2:21; Jude 1:16Men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3#Ro 1:31; 1Ti 3:11without natural affection, trucebreakers, slanderers, unrestrained, fierce, despisers of those who are good, 4#1Ti 3:6traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, 5#1Ti 5:8; Mt 7:15having a form of godliness, but denying its power. Turn away from such people.
6#Titus 3:3; Jude 1:4Those of this nature creep into houses and captivate silly women who are burdened with sins and led away with various desires, 7#1Ti 2:4; 2Ti 2:25always learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8#Ex 7:11; 1Ti 6:5Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so these also resist the truth, men of corrupt minds and worthless concerning the faith. 9#Ex 7:12; 9:11But they shall proceed no further, for their folly will be revealed to everyone, as theirs also was.
Last Charge to Timothy
10#Php 2:22; 1Ti 4:6But you have observed my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, tolerance, love, patience, 11#Ps 34:19; Ac 13:45persecutions, and afflictions, which came to me at Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra—what persecutions I endured! But the Lord delivered me out of them all. 12#Ac 14:22; Titus 2:12Yes, and all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13But evil men and seducers will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14#2Ti 1:13But continue in the things that you have learned and have been assured of, knowing those from whom you have learned them, 15#2Ti 1:5and that since childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise unto salvation through the faith that is in Christ Jesus. 16#Ro 15:4All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, 17#1Ti 6:11; 2Ti 2:21that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Opposition in the Last Days
1But understand this, that in the last days hard times will come—
2for people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3hardhearted, unforgiving, backbiting, without self-control, brutal, hating what is good,
4treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
5holding to an outward form of godliness but denying its power. Avoid these people!
6For among these are those who slip into households and deceive weak women weighed down with sins, led away by various desires,
7always learning yet never able to come to the knowledge of truth.
8Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so do these people oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and worthless concerning the faith.
9But these people will not make any more progress—for their folly, like that of Jannes and Jambres, will be obvious to everyone.
10You, however, closely followed my teaching, manner of life, purpose, faithfulness, patience, love, perseverance—
11as well as persecutions and sufferings that happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. What persecutions I endured! And the Lord rescued me from them all!
12Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Messiah Yeshua will be persecuted.
13But evil men and imposters will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
All Scripture Equips God’s People
14You, however, continue in what you have learned and what you have become convinced of. For you know from whom you have learned,
15and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to make you wise, leading to salvation through trusting in Messiah Yeshua.
16All Scripture is inspired by God and useful for teaching, for reproof, for restoration, and for training in righteousness,
17so that the person belonging to God may be capable, fully equipped for every good deed.
