Revelation 22
22
The River of Life
1And he showed me #Ps. 46:4; Ezek. 47:1; (Zech. 14:8)a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. 2#Ezek. 47:12In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was #Gen. 2:9; (Rev. 2:7; 22:14, 19)the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were #Rev. 21:24for the healing of the nations. 3And #Zech. 14:11there shall be no more curse, #Ezek. 48:35but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His #Rev. 7:15servants shall serve Him. 4#(Ps. 17:15; 42:2; Matt. 5:8; 1 Cor. 13:12; 1 John 3:2)They shall see His face, and #Rev. 14:1His name shall be on their foreheads. 5#Is. 60:19; Rev. 21:23There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor #Rev. 7:15light of the sun, for #Ps. 36:9the Lord God gives them light. #Dan. 7:18, 27; Matt. 19:28; (Rom. 5:17); 2 Tim. 2:12; Rev. 20:4And they shall reign forever and ever.
The Time Is Near
6Then he said to me, #Rev. 19:9“These words are faithful and true.” And the Lord God of the holy prophets #Rev. 1:1sent His angel to show His servants the things which must #Heb. 10:37shortly take place.
7#(Rev. 3:11)“Behold, I am coming quickly! #Rev. 1:3Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
8Now I, John, saw and heard these things. And when I heard and saw, #Rev. 19:10I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel who showed me these things.
9Then he said to me, #Rev. 19:10“See that you do not do that. For I am your fellow servant, and of your brethren the prophets, and of those who keep the words of this book. Worship God.” 10#Dan. 8:26; Rev. 10:4And he said to me, “Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, #Rev. 1:3for the time is at hand. 11He who is unjust, let him be unjust still; he who is filthy, let him be filthy still; he who is righteous, let him be righteous still; he who is holy, let him be holy still.”
Jesus Testifies to the Churches
12“And behold, I am coming quickly, and #Is. 40:10; 62:11My reward is with Me, #Rev. 20:12to give to every one according to his work. 13#Is. 41:4I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”
14#Dan. 12:12; (1 John 3:24)Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right #(Prov. 11:30); Rev. 2:7to the tree of life, #Rev. 21:27and may enter through the gates into the city. 15But #Matt. 8:12; 1 Cor. 6:9; Gal. 5:19; Col. 3:6; Rev. 21:8outside are #Deut. 23:18; Matt. 7:6; Phil. 3:2dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
16#Rev. 1:1“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. #2 Sam. 7:12; Is. 9:7; Jer. 23:5; Rev. 5:5I am the Root and the Offspring of David, #Num. 24:17; Luke 1:78; 2 Pet. 1:19the Bright and Morning Star.”
17And the Spirit and #(Rev. 21:2, 9)the bride say, “Come!” And let him who hears say, “Come!” #Is. 55:1; Rev. 21:6And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
A Warning
18For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: #Deut. 4:2; 12:32; Prov. 30:6If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, #Ex. 32:33God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
I Am Coming Quickly
20He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming quickly.”
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

22
1And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, bright as crystal, going forth out of the throne of God and of the Lamb:
2in the midst of its broad place, and of the river on this side and on that, [is] a tree of life, yielding twelve fruits, in each several month rendering its fruits, and the leaves of the tree [are] for the service of the nations;
3and any curse there shall not be any more, and the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him,
4and they shall see His face, and His name [is] upon their foreheads,
5and night shall not be there, and they have no need of a lamp and light of a sun, because the Lord God doth give them light, and they shall reign — to the ages of the ages.
6And he said to me, ‘These words [are] stedfast and true, and the Lord God of the holy prophets did send His messenger to shew to His servants the things that it behoveth to come quickly:
7Lo, I come quickly; happy [is] he who is keeping the words of the prophecy of this scroll.’
8And I, John, am he who is seeing these things and hearing, and when I heard and beheld, I fell down to bow before the feet of the messenger who is shewing me these things;
9and he saith to me, ‘See — not; for fellow-servant of thee am I, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of those keeping the words of this scroll; before God bow.’
10And he saith to me, ‘Thou mayest not seal the words of the prophecy of this scroll, because the time is nigh;
11he who is unrighteous — let him be unrighteous still, and he who is filthy — let him be filthy still, and he who is righteous — let him be declared righteous still, and he who is sanctified — let him be sanctified still:
12And lo, I come quickly, and my reward [is] with me, to render to each as his work shall be;
13I am the Alpha and the Omega — the Beginning and End — the First and the Last.
14‘Happy are those doing His commands that the authority shall be theirs unto the tree of the life, and by the gates they may enter into the city;
15and without [are] the dogs, and the sorcerers, and the whoremongers, and the murderers, and the idolaters, and every one who is loving and is doing a lie.
16‘I, Jesus did send my messenger to testify to you these things concerning the assemblies; I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright and morning star!
17And the Spirit and the Bride say, Come; and he who is hearing — let him say, Come; and he who is thirsting — let him come; and he who is willing — let him take the water of life freely.
18‘For I testify to every one hearing the words of the prophecy of this scroll, if any one may add unto these, God shall add to him the plagues that have been written in this scroll,
19and if any one may take away from the words of the scroll of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the scroll of the life, and out of the holy city, and the things that have been written in this scroll;’
20he saith — who is testifying these things — ‘Yes, I come quickly!’ Amen! Yes, be coming, Lord Jesus!
21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [is] with you all. Amen.
