Matthew 28

Jesus Rises from the Dead
1The day after the Sabbath day was the first day of the week. At dawn on the first day, Mary Magdalene and another woman named Mary went to look at the tomb.
2At that time there was a strong earthquake. An angel of the Lord came down from heaven, went to the tomb, and rolled the stone away from the entrance. Then he sat on the stone. 3He was shining as bright as lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. 4The soldiers guarding the tomb shook with fear because of the angel, and they became like dead men.
5The angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know that you are looking for Jesus, who has been crucified. 6He is not here. He has risen from the dead as he said he would. Come and see the place where his body was. 7And go quickly and tell his followers, ‘Jesus has risen from the dead. He is going into Galilee ahead of you, and you will see him there.’ ” Then the angel said, “Now I have told you.”
8The women left the tomb quickly. They were afraid, but they were also very happy. They ran to tell Jesus’ followers what had happened. 9Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings.” The women came up to him, took hold of his feet, and worshiped him. 10Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go and tell my followers to go on to Galilee, and they will see me there.”
The Soldiers Report to the Leaders
11While the women went to tell Jesus’ followers, some of the soldiers who had been guarding the tomb went into the city to tell the leading priests everything that had happened. 12Then the priests met with the elders and made a plan. They paid the soldiers a large amount of money 13and said to them, “Tell the people that Jesus’ followers came during the night and stole the body while you were asleep. 14If the governor hears about this, we will satisfy him and save you from trouble.” 15So the soldiers kept the money and did as they were told. And that story is still spread among the people even today.
Jesus Talks to His Followers
16The eleven followers went to Galilee to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17On the mountain they saw Jesus and worshiped him, but some of them did not believe it was really Jesus. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, “All power in heaven and on earth is given to me. 19So go and make followers of all people in the world. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20Teach them to obey everything that I have taught you, and I will be with you always, even until the end of this age.”

Mattityahu (Mat) 28
28
1After Shabbat, as the next day was dawning, Miryam of Magdala and the other Miryam went to see the grave. 2Suddenly there was a violent earthquake, for an angel of Adonai came down from heaven, rolled away the stone and sat on it. 3His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were as white as snow. 4The guards were so terrified at him that they trembled and became like dead men. 5But the angel said to the women, “Don’t be afraid. I know you are looking for Yeshua, who was executed on the stake. 6He is not here, because he has been raised — just as he said! Come and look at the place where he lay. 7Then go quickly and tell the talmidim, ‘He has been raised from the dead, and now he is going to the Galil ahead of you. You will see him there.’ Now I have told you.”
8So they left the tomb quickly, frightened yet filled with joy; and they ran to give the news to his talmidim. 9Suddenly Yeshua met them and said, “Shalom!” They came up and took hold of his feet as they fell down in front of him. 10Then Yeshua said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go and tell my brothers to go to the Galil, and they will see me there.”
11As they were going, some of the guards went into the city and reported to the head cohanim everything that had happened. 12Then they met with the elders; and after discussing the matter, they gave the soldiers a sizeable sum of money 13and said to them, “Tell people, ‘His talmidim came during the night and stole his body while we were sleeping.’ 14If the governor hears of it, we will put things right with him and keep you from getting in trouble.” 15The soldiers took the money and did as they were told, and this story has been spread about by Judeans till this very day.
16So the eleven talmidim went to the hill in the Galil where Yeshua had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they prostrated themselves before him; but some hesitated. 18Yeshua came and talked with them. He said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore, go and make people from all nations into talmidim, immersing them into the reality of the Father, the Son and the Ruach HaKodesh, 20and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember! I will be with you always, yes, even until the end of the age.”
