But we speak the Good News because God tested us and trusted us to do it. When we speak, we are not trying to please people, but God, who tests our hearts. You know that we never tried to influence you by saying nice things about you. We were not trying to get your money; we had no selfishness to hide from you. God knows that this is true. We were not looking for human praise, from you or anyone else, even though as apostles of Christ we could have used our authority over you. But we were very gentle with you, like a mother caring for her little children. Because we loved you, we were happy to share not only God’s Good News with you, but even our own lives. You had become so dear to us! Brothers and sisters, I know you remember our hard work and difficulties. We worked night and day so we would not burden any of you while we preached God’s Good News to you. When we were with you, we lived in a holy and honest way, without fault. You know this is true, and so does God. You know that we treated each of you as a father treats his own children. We encouraged you, we urged you, and we insisted that you live good lives for God, who calls you to his glorious kingdom.

Pastor Justin Kendrick has written the book "Bury Your Ordinary" to teach seven spiritual habits that lead to explosive growth and how to develop them in your life. Dive into the seventh habit: Replication.

Hi God (It s Me Again) is for those moments when we need to stop, be still, and remember who God is. We know we should go to God amidst the craziness, but how can we find the time? And once we get with him, what do we even say?
This plan will explore what the letter of 1 Thessalonians teaches us in four major areas. 1) WHO GOD IS: God’s character and nature 2) WHO WE ARE: the identity of humanity and/or believers 3) WHAT WE BELIEVE: core Christian doctrines 4) HOW WE LIVE: putting faith into action

We will continue our discussion comparing our lives as Christ-followers who are running “the race that is set before us” in Hebrews 12:1 with characteristics of running a physical race. In this study we will compare the “weights” we are urged to “lay aside” with hurdles we must clear to run our best race. There are five of them.
