Solomon's big ASK

In this study we'll consider Solomon's response to a direct question from God.

1. Why does God's question to Solomon seem odd? (1 Kings 3:3-4)

Because too few of us:
• Think God is willing.
• Believe we are worthy.

2. Why does Solomon's answer seem odd? (1 Kings 3:5-9)

Because few 20 year olds:
• Feel the weight of responsibility
• Value the power of influence

Four stages of learning:
Ignorance (You don't have a clue.)
Awareness ( You know there is a clue.)
Knowledge (You learn the clue.)
Wisdom (You use the clue.)
3. Why is this dialogue important to us?
Because as it was with Solomon, God wants to:
Exceed our expectations. (1 Kings 3:10-13)
